Gerald Arivett can best be described as a walking
racing encyclopedia. He has spent the majority of his
life building things made of metal, wood, carbon fibre
and various other forms within. He doesn't miss a race
or article when it comes to racing. He can tell you who
won it why and who could have won it if they had made
the right moves.
He knows all about Grand Prix,Indy,Cart,Nascar,Drag
Racing and Land Speed Racing. Gerald is a very honest
person and requires respect, and respect is what he
offers in return.
Gerald is divorced, over twenty years ago and at last
look,Attractive for fifty something. He doesn't spend a
lot of time looking for a woman but, when he finds one
that he is attracted to he'll spend "time" with her
just to be near her.
Gerald was at one time a carpenter,as was his
father, but not making enough money he turned to the
millwright trade. After a two year apprenticeship he began
what is now considered a legacy, being called out of
the Union for special jobs, being asked for by name
etc.
His first car was a 34 ford three window and it was
all racing ever since then. All the way back to the fifty's
Drag racing on old airport runways such as
Colton air strip or Fontana Drag strip. He got sucked
in so hard that even a divorce and being separated
from his family didn't stop his love affair with the
automobile.
His true love has always been Drag Racing, but after
being shut down by NHRA in a fowl decision to outlaw
aerodynamics. Gerald and brother Donald began to
contemplate how to prove to NHRA that streamlining can
be done safely and improve stability and speeds.
Some say he is a perfectionist, and maybe they are
right but when you look at the fruits of his labors
you immediatly know that there is something much
deeper brewing in his mind. In my opinion Gerald should
be working for the military industrial
complex, building better methods of aerodynamics to reduce loss of life
in wartime situations. But that is simply not what he
is all about.
Gerald is a great lover of life and that stands true
in all his non violent ways. He is a lover of
art, Maxfield Perrish is one of his favorites. He loves
sculpture, antiques and also builds and collects
things related to automotive memorabilia. He is a
collector of porcelain Automotive and Soda signs.
Gerald worked for Race Car Specialties and also NSP
Race cars in the seventy's building Chassis for all
types of race cars, before going into business with
his brother Don in the eighty's.
Together they have built Kenny Bernsteins Funny Car
Body's the last three years that Kenny ran in that
class. They built a ground effects tunnel for an
Injected nitro car that broke the record by 3 tenths
of a second, NHRA also Outlawed that car. It's one thing
to be outlawed for safety reasons, thats a bad
thing, but the Brothers cars have been outlawed
basically because the rest of the competition can't
keep up with them and their ideas!
